Step 3 Using Your KeyWords To Your Best Advantage
OK, you have your list of relevant keywords. Note the
use of the word "relevant" I say this because
its absolutely useless and a waste of time to cram keywords
into your meta tags that are not relevant to your site,
so don't do it. Now if you used WordTracker
you will not only have a great list of keywords that
are relevant to your website but you will also know
their KEI rating. The words with the best KEI rating
are the ones you really want to target first as they
will be the easiest for you to get a high ranking in.
That's because they have the least amount of competition
and a high click through rate (perfect).
I cannot stress enough to you the importance of using
WebPositionGold
in this next step. If you have not already installed
it please do so now. They offer a free trial so its
not going to cost you anything to get it now and use
it. Why waste time and energy doing it all manually
or with some inferior product when you can speed the
whole thing up and most importantly avoid spamming the
search engines.
Once you have it installed , launch it. Click on the
menu to launch a "new mission". You will see
there are a bunch of cool things you can use WebPositionGold
to do. The Headings are: Reporter, Page Generator, Page
Critic, Upload Manager, Submitter, Traffic Analyzer
and Scheduler. Click
Here to see explanations of these functions and the
features of WebPositionGold. You can also watch
this video on how to get the most out of WebPositionGold
At this time we are primarily interested in using Reporter
and Page Critic.
If
you have had your website live on the net for some time,
then go ahead and use Reporter to tell you where it
is in any or all of the Search Engines. This will give
you a starting point to measure your progress toward
a top ranking. If you site is brand new, then you can
skip the Reporter part at this time.
OK, moving along to Page Critic.
I
took a few real life screen shots for you to be able
to follow along and more easily understand what I'm
saying. As I was doing the screen shots I was truly
amazed at some of the results.
ApacheAds.com was specifically optimized for getting
a good ranking on Google. It would not have been any
use to you to run "Page Critic" on ApacheAds.com
and use Google as the search engine as it would not
have displayed any critical items to improve upon. So
I ran it on ExactSeek. Now what I found was amazing.
Remembering the page was optimized for Google, Page
Critic found tons of things to fix up which you can
see by clicking
this link and bringing up a screen shot I did. Page
Critic found lots of items to modify because the page
was optimized for Google not ExactSeek. YET, this
exact same page ranks in most of the Top 10 spots on
ExactSeek, click
here to see screen shot of results on ExactSeek.

ranking results for ApacheAds.com .
Quite amazing!! This to me proves the value
of WebPositionGold.
OK, now what you need to do is to run a Page Critic
result on your own website. Then, view the results and
recommendations offered by Page Critic. What I do is
work on each item of the page critic until it simply
does not offer any more suggestions. I figure the page
is then as good as it can be.
Feel free to follow the same procedure for each of
your keywords, saving a different page for each keyword.
For Example: ApacheAds.com/index.html is optimized for
the keyword "Leads". I have other pages for
other keywords. ApacheAds.com/mlm-leads.html is optimized
for the keyword phrase "MLM Leads"
Big Tip: One Word
KeyWords Can Be A Waste Of Time.
I know this sounds weird as the example I have been
using is "leads" but that's because ApacheAds,
specializes in Leads. Using a keyword phrase is better
and easier, for example "MLM Leads" The reason
being is phrases will mean more to search engines than
single words plus searchers don't use single
words to search. No one would ever search for
"hotel" they would search for "hotels
in hawaii". So think about the phrases which are
best for you.
